Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (about 225g) penne or any pasta of your choice
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a bit of heat)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta: Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the sauce: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the tomato sauce, heavy cream, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well.
  4. Layering the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, shredded chicken, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Pour the sauce over the mixture and toss until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Assemble the bake: Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
